Homemade Slow Cooker Pot Roast Seasoning Without Onion Soup Mix

Bone stickin', savory & simple, pot roast in the crock pot using homemade seasoning instead of onion soup mix. Quick and easy! In the midst of the sleet and ice of Winter storm Pax, and making my hardy, slow cooker roast, it occurred to me that I forgot to get onion soup mix. Handy in the kitchen, I whipped up a mean homemade version this beloved meal. A few hours later the results from this experiment were collected....conclusion, better then the onion soup recipe! I think I may have a new way of making an old favorite in our house. Sharing!

Homemade Pot Roast Seasoning:
1 Tablespoon Garlic Powder
1 Tablespoon Ground Black Pepper
1 1/2 teaspoon Salt
1/4 teaspoon Turmeric
1/4 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
1/4 teaspoon Paprika
1/4 teaspoon Thyme
2 Beef Bouillon cubes, crushed
3 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 (10 oz) can of Condensed cream of chicken soup (you can also use cream of mushroom)
2 Tablespoon Butter, quartered

I use the following in my roast:
3 lb Chuck Roast
1 lb bag of Carrots
1/4 med. Red Onion, sliced
5 ribs of Celery, sliced
1 large Rutabaga, cubed
8-10 small Red Skin Potatoes, halved

Place roast in crock pot. Mix the spices and rub onto meat. Drizzle with Worcestershire sauce. Pour cream of chicken soup on and around the meat. Add the vegetables on top. Place the pats of butter on top of the vegetables, spread out evenly. Cover and cook on low for 7-9 hours or high 3-4.
